A single bean…

This little plant has been growing in this salsa jar for months. I planted it after the second time the garden was destroyed by flying, bastardly, vegetarian rodents.

The tomato plants haven been eaten, yes eaten, by the new dog and I had forever given up on gardening here in the prairie.

But alas, today we have reaped a single green bean.

That’s the whole harvest. All of it.

Now I’m just thinking of how I’m going to eat it.

Ha.

      • Chickens are great. When we take the hoop houses in our garden down, we will release the chickens into what is left of the garden. We introduced the chickens to the garden before we planted this past spring. They cleaned everything up and caused the gophers to move out.
